She has appeared on Fox News and is a former senior fellow at the Alexis de Tocqueville Institution.
Alveda holds a Master of Arts degree in business.
She is Martin Luther King Jr’s niece and as of 2018 serves on the Frederick Douglass Bicentennial Commission (appointed by President Trump).
Alveda had two abortions in her younger years. She now believes abortion is a form of racial discrimination in the United States and sees the prolife fight as a continuation of the civil rights struggle. She is also a born again Christian Evangelist and has founded her own faith ministries.
